This is a list of IP no.s given back by the root nameservers of various gTLD and ccTLD registries in case of a non-existent domain instead of issueing the correct NXDOMAIN response, also known as the "wildcard issue". It was posted originally to the SPAM-L mailing list and forwarded to spamasassin-talk where I picked it up, validated it and corrected a typo in one IP no. Since I don't know if the original authors want their names associated with this I leave them out. The validity has been tested as of 20. Sept. 2003 by looking up two supposedly bogus domains for any of the following TLDs and comparing the results. I will add additional domains or changed IPs as soon as I take notice. Good news: I retested on 11. Oct. 2010 and found only one of the registries still doing this business: ws. Old IP numbers have been invalidated with #. It's possible that other registries have started doing it, but I haven't tested it. I guess I should write a small test program :-) *.ac #194.205.62.122 *.cc #206.253.214.102 *.com *.net #64.94.110.11 *.cx #219.88.106.80 *.museum #195.7.77.20 *.nu #64.55.105.9 #212.181.91.6 *.sh #194.205.62.62 *.tm #194.205.62.42 *.ws #216.35.187.246 64.70.19.33 URL: http://winware.org/bogus-domains.txt History: 20/09/2003 initial release 11/10/2010 update
